3rd Gear is an Australian feminist bike zine written by women and queers.
As women and people outside the gender binary our voices are so often not heard when talking about bicycling. The same applies for other marginalised groups who do not fit the dominant paradigm of bike riders: people of colour, people who don't wear lycra or skinny jeans, those who cannot afford all the latest gadgets and the differently-abled. This zine aims to provide a place for them to share their enjoyed experiences of cycling. The name, 3rd Gear, refers to 3rd wave intersectional feminism.
